Toronado Expanding To SeattlePhoto: Facebook / Toronado Seattle
Our friends to the north are in luck: a third location of iconic Lower Haight beer bar Toronado will be opening this summer in Seattle.

Word spread on Friday via a site called Craft Beer Monger, which had discovered the new bar's Facebook page.  There, it was revealed that the location of this new Toronado would be 1205 NE 65th Street, in the Ravenna / Roosevelt neighborhood(s). That address was most recently occupied by a bar called Mutiny Hall, which closed earlier this month.

This will be the third incarnation of Toronado, establishing an empire that will now span the length of the West Coast.  The original location opened at 547 Haight Street in 1987, and a San Diego version followed in 2008.  Both bars boast dozens of hard-to-find beers on tap, while the San Diego Toronado also features a full food menu.

There aren't any details yet on what's in store for the Seattle outpost.  However, Craft Beer Monger describes new owner Matt Bonney as "a well known figure in the Seattle craft beer scene," so you can likely expect a similar selection of obscure brews.

Toronado Seattle should be open "in two short months," Bonney says, giving you plenty of time to plan your late-summer tri-Toronado roadtrip.
