Alternative Apparel Offering Free Meeting Space For Non-ProfitsPhoto: Alternative Apparel/Liquidspace
If you work or volunteer with a non-profit organization that's looking for space to meet, we know of a new option in the neighborhood.
A new, free option.

Alternative Apparel, the sustainable clothing and apparel store that opened up at 424 Hayes last December, wants to help non-profit organizations by letting them use their basement space for free.

We spoke to Michelle Wang, who manages the store's community engagement initiatives. She said, "As long as the organization is a non-profit and doing great things for the community, they are welcome to book the space!"

In addition to offering their basement for free, they're teaming up with Hayes Valley Bakeworks to provide free Four Barrel coffee and pastries to non-profits who use the space for meetings, fundraisers, or events.

Here are the details about the space:

  • Available 10am-8pm every day (but flexible if needed earlier or later)
  • Can hold 15 people comfortably
  • Amenities provided: WiFi, whiteboard, filtered water, couches, tables, and a flatscreen TV
If you're interested in reserving the space or want to get more details, check out their advertisement on Liquidspace. It provides a calendar and contact information for further questions.
