SF Skate Club's Summer Camps Starting SoonPhoto: SF Skate Club
Got a small skater on your hands? San Francisco Skate Club, Divisadero's resident full-service skateboarding shop, is prepping for 4 sessions of skate camp this summer, and we've got the details.
On a warm Saturday afternoon, it's not unusual to see owners Shawn or Thuy leading a pack of young skaters around the neighborhood or loading up their van to head out to a skatepark. In fact, the brick and mortar shop is about to mark its 1-year anniversary on Divisadero. The pair's work isn't going unrecognized either, with SF Bay Guardian awarding them the "Best School of Thrash" nod in 2013.

With school officially out, there's even more time to skate. The popular summer camp's perks involve learning new tricks, meeting a skate pro, exploring skateparks around the Bay Area and appearing in a camp DVD showcasing the summer's activities.

If you've got someone you'd like to enroll this summer, the schedule is as follows:

  • Session 1: June 16 - June 27
  • Session 2: July 7 - July 18
  • Session 3: July 21 - August 1
  • Session 4: August 4 - August 15
Each session runs Monday through Friday, with kids meeting at 10am every day at the Divisadero shop. Skaters must be between the ages of 8 and 13, and each two-week session costs $700. You can find out more info and register here
