The neighborhood is mostly plagued by the city-wide issues of car break-ins and theft, but yesterday, two crimes were reported to SFPD that warrant a closer look.

Shortly after 10pm on June 8th, a man was mugged at gunpoint on the corner of Fulton and Pierce, on the north side of Alamo Square. The male suspect held up the victim at gunpoint and asked for his wallet. Once determining there was no cash in the wallet, the suspect threw it back at the victim and left the scene.

A "hot prowl" (SFPD's terminology) also occurred yesterday on the 1200 block of Fell Street. A man was awoken by a noise from his bathroom shortly after noon. When he attempted to enter the bathroom, the intruder blocked the door. The victim shouted that the police were on their way. He managed to pry the bathroom door open, but the intruder had left through an open window.

As always, stay safe neighbors! If you have any particular concerns about crime in the neighborhood, feel free to bring them to the next North of the Panhandle Neighborhood Association Meeting on July 17th (details coming soon).
