You may have noticed a new addition to the neighborhood, and no, it's not another boutique. Instead, you might call it an owlbear invasion, courtesy of an artist referred to as McFry.
McFry's art has popped up all over the neighborhood, taking the form of street and wall graffiti, repurposed traffic cones, and painted wooden panels that have gone up on telephone poles. A common theme is the owlbear, a fictional amalgam between owl and bear, though it could also be an otter, judging from the oval object held tightly in the animal's hands (we're open to expert feedback on this).

Flickr's Larrybobsf captured a bunch of the pieces around town, one of which bears the inscription "Nevermind the yuppies," which is as close to a mission statement as is evident to the casual onlooker. Here are some of his snaps:

Have you spotted more of McFry's work around the neighborhood? Do you know more about the meaning of it all? Let us know in the comments. If not, take a stroll around the 'hood and see if you can spot more of McFry's doings.
