Three Things To Do This SaturdayPhoto: Amy Stephenson/Hoodline
We've got three things in the hood to look forward to this Saturday the 23rd.

First up: clean up Alvord Lake. Meet at Haight & Stanyan, wear layers, and help SF Rec & Park spruce up the entrance to Golden Gate Park. If you think you can make it, contact David Burnett at David [dot] Burnett [at] sfgov [dot] org, so he can make sure there are enough tools. 9am-12pm.

Next, San Francisco band The Frail is having a free show at Amoeba at 2pm to celebrate the release of their first full-length album, LoveDeathLegend.

Last, Milk Bar will be hosting A VERY VOUCHED BIRTHDAY at 6pm, to celebrate Vouched Books' first year in San Francisco. There will be readings, giveaways, book raffles, writers, comedians, music and dancing, and maybe most exciting of all, a chapbook making station. We have it on good authority that there will also be "a pile of donuts."  The event is free, and all donations, raffle tickets, and a portion of tonight's drink and book sales go to benefit community programming at 826 Valencia. You can read more about it at this link.
