We took a "Hyperlapse" video of the Castro yesterday morning and our good pal and photographer Alex Girard added some music and still shots of the Rainbow Honor Walk plaques and the Castro Theatre marquee. In the video you can see construction crews preparing the last of the concrete pours on the Eastside of the 400-block of Castro Street between 18th and Market. Crews will be digging up the road (which had a temporary layer of pavement over it for Pride) in order to repair the damaged subsurface.
Also, nearly all of the Rainbow Honor Walk plaques have been installed and the Rainbow Honor Walk committee got back to us with some details on the Rainbow Honor Walk ribbon cutting ceremony. The ceremony will be held at Harvey Milk Plaza next Tuesday, September 2nd at 11AM. If you are one of the fortunate San Franciscan's who have a flexible schedule, join us out there to commemorate this project that has been 20 years in the making.
Have a safe and fun Labor Day weekend!
