Ice Cream Bar Rolls Out Fall Menu OfferingsPhoto: Camden Avery/Hoodline
It's fall, and it's hot.

Just in time, Juliet Pries's Ice Cream Bar at 815 Cole has rolled out new fall remedies and a collaboration with the San Francisco Mead Company.

The partnership, revealed last week, means the Ice Cream Bar will be offering a selection of desserts and drinks featuring mead, or honey wine.

We spoke with the Ice Cream Bar's Shannon Kurashige about the three meads being offered:

"Orange blossom is the driest of the three," Shannon said, "nice to drink like a glass of wine, alone or with savory food. California gold is the middle of the two. Well balanced and my favorite. Apple Pie is traditional mead that is blended with apple cider, apples that are of course from Sonoma, and spices. Sweet. A nice alternative to a classic dessert wine."

Shannon also said that in addition to mead, the bar has expanded expanded its beer selection, and has added aperitif and digestif wines to supplement its ports and sherries.

But what of the rest of the menu, you ask?

"The Ice Cream Bar has filled out its 'remedy' (21 and up drinks) menu," Kurashige said. "There are quite a few new remedies that we are very excited about. They range from grown up variations on floats that feature beer/sherry/mead alongside the ice cream, i.e. San Francisco Honey & PX Pie, to lighter, more cocktail-like drinks (Cracked Cola, The Cappellettis, The Gold Standard).

You're probably wondering about those new treats by now, so here's the scoop:

Cracked Cola is a mix of Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, Cole St. Cola syrup, Angostura bitters, acid phosphate, and a Morello cherry.

San Francisco Honey is San Francisco Mead Co. Apple Pie mead over milk chocolate and creme fraiche ice creams.

The CappellettisApertivo Cappelletti, Elisir Novasalus Amaro, lime juice, juniper tincture and soda.

The Gold Standard: Cocchi Americano, Cardamaro Vino Amaro, lemon juice, pineapple shrub, black cardamom tincture, turbinado syrup.

PX Pie: Anderson Valley Fall Hornin' Pumpkin Ale, creme fraiche ice cream, Toro Albala Don PX 2010 sherry.

So if you're feeling festive, we'll see you there.
