Back in July, we noted that City Optix had made a quiet exit from its 1685 Haight Street location. Last week, the windows of the space were papered over, and we caught news that Loved to Death, the taxidermy jewelry and accessories shop at 1681 Haight, was expanding into the space.
We reached out to owner Audra Kunkle to find out more, and sure enough, she confirmed that the spot is set to become an extension of what they're already doing next door, albeit with a slightly more high- end feel. The expansion shop will be called LTD.

"We are busting at the seams in the 1681 spot and need more room for antiques," Kunkle told us. "There will be lots of art and jewelry and home decor in the new space. Most of the creepy stuff will stay in the original spot, but we will have antiques in the new spot too."

Due to the new expansion, Loved to Death is also hiring. Kunkle is looking for about four full-time, experienced retail people to work in the new shop. If you're interested, you can email your resume to info [{at}] lovedtodeath [{dot}] com.

The inside of the space is currently undergoing a cosmetic renovation, and Kunkle hopes to be open in early October. She promises to let us take a sneak peek of the space before it opens, just for you, so stay tuned for more coming up soon.
