Man Robbed At Gunpoint At Page And SteinerPhoto: Flickr / alancleaver
A pleasant Sunday morning stroll took a rather unpleasant turn yesterday, as a man was robbed at gunpoint near the intersection of Page and Steiner.

Police report that a man was photographing architecture in the neighborhood around 7am yesterday, when he was approached from behind by a would-be mugger. The suspect "pointed a handgun in his right ribcage," according to police, and demanded that the victim surrender his possessions, including his backpack and wallet. The victim complied. The suspect then hopped into the passenger seat of a getaway car which was waiting nearby, and was driven away.

Fortunately, the victim was able to note the car's license plate number and model (a Toyota Camry, for the record). He contacted police and provided them with the car's details, which helped them eventually locate the car and arrest the suspects.

Nearly all of the victim's possessions, including the wallet, backpack, 2 laptops and a cell phone, were recovered. The camera, however, is apparently still missing.
