Primo Pizza To Open This MonthPhoto: Stephen Jackson / Hoodline
A while back, we compiled a comprehensive list of where to find pizza on Divisadero Street. Well, get ready to add another to the list, because Primo Pizza is setting up shop on the corner of Turk and Divisadero, in the space formerly occupied by Apollo Coffee. According to one of the owners, who prefers to go by the name “Joe Primo”, they hope to be open by September 15th.

Primo Pizza is a family-owned business that already has one location in Daly City. Joe tells us that his shop is a “family-style pizzeria" offering pies that he says are “between thick and thin crust and made with only good quality, fresh ingredients.”

Primo Pizza will offer free delivery, but will also be available for dine-in and take-out orders, including slices. What’s more, it'll be open from 11am to midnight, seven days a week, joining the ranks of other late-night, eat-while-you-stumble food offerings on Divis.

A quick perusal of the menu already up on Grubhub reveals a solid roll-call of traditional pizzeria items, including the 16” Primo Special ($23.99), which comes with double pepperoni, sausage, salami, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes. The Greek Special will run you the same amount of cash and comes with spinach, olives, garlic, feta, fresh tomatoes, and pesto. Primo will also serve deli sandwiches ($6.99-$7.99) and offer all the traditional pizza joint appetizers such as buffalo wings, chicken tenders and and mozzarella cheese sticks. However, there will be no  beer or wine on offer.

Joe tells us he’s excited to open up a second location, especially here on Divisadero. “We are born and raised in San Francisco, we wanted to be local. We like to shop local and do anything we can to support the neighborhood. After all, we’re a family-style restaurant.”
