With a dense and bustling commercial corridor, Hayes Valley is prime real estate for commercial businesses, and most vacant storefront don't stay empty for long. However, there are a few vacancies in the heart of the neighborhood, and these storefronts are looking for some love. 

So if you're pining for a connection with a hot, available retail space near you, here are the five most eligible addresses in the neighborhood.

Formerly known as: The African Outlet

After 19 years on Octavia, the African Outlet departed the neighborhood, and its high rents, less than a month ago. Though the shop's former location feels a bit lonely, we're happy to say that the African Outlet has moved on to a space at 4942 3rd Street in Bayview. Do we miss them? Sure. But it feels like it's time for 524 Octavia to get out there and meet some new people. 

2.) 597 Hayes St. 

Formerly known as: In Bed

In Bed closed up shop and moved their business to SoMa back in May, when manager Carly Young hinted that a new tenant was on the way. In June, Cary Lane moved upstairs into the space while construction took place on their basement location at 760 Laguna, then moved back down earlier this month. Now, construction has begun in earnest at 597 Hayes. That new tenant? Still unknown. 

Formerly known as: Reliquary

Before moving from tree-lined Octavia to the more bustling Hayes Street location earlier this year, Reliquary called this space home. It went up for rent in May, and it looks like someone may be planning on moving in. We'll let you know when we learn more about the potential suitor. 

Formerly known as: None

This space, formerly occupied by thin air, has been under construction since last year, and the building (technically 350 Linden) is finally nearing completion. This glass-paneled, Proxy adjacent storefront is ready and waiting for a new tenant to come along, and we've got our ears open as to who that might be. 

Formerly known as: Quatrine

This former furniture showroom has been on the market for a while, but papered over walls indicate that something worth seeing might be going on inside. Has this spot, which friends have described as "a catch", finally met the One?
