New Belgium's huge, daylong, bike-centric  philanthropic extravaganza known as Tour De Fat stops in Golden Gate Park this Saturday, and we've got the rundown on what to expect.
The fun goes from 10am to 5pm, and starts in Lindley Meadow, with a bike parade around the park, costume contests, races, and performances throughout the day.

At 1:40pm, look out for a vaudeville performance by The Handsome Little Devils.  At 2:30pm, if you agree to turn in your car keys and live car-free for a year, you can get a stipend toward a commuter bike. You're also entered to win $2,250 towards the bike of your dreams. Cars will be auctioned, and the proceeds will benefit the SF Bike Coalition and the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council. If you want to enter, you can submit a two-minute video here.

But the action doesn't end there. At 3:35pm, be prepared for a 1,000 person dance-off. The winner (could it be you?) receives a custom New Belgium bike.

The entire event is free (although you'll have to register if you want to participate in the bike parade), and it's worth the price of admission just to see Reggie Watts perform at 4pm. And forecasts, of course, call for more dry, warm weather this weekend.

There will be plenty beer of course, although the SF Bike Coalition notes that kids and dogs are welcome (if the dog is cool with crowds). And to get a better idea of what exactly goes down at the event, you can check out a video of the 2014 tour, which stops in ten cities, here

If you want to answer the call of duty, the SF Bike Coalition is also looking for volunteers from its role call of current members.

Will you be there, or will you be checking out the inaugural 420 Games, also slated for Saturday at Golden Gate Park?
