The new Avalon apartment building on Oak Street between Laguna and Octavia is almost ready for occupancy, and we have some fresh details on its units and pricing.

According to details on Avalon's website, studios in the building will start at $3,135 per month.

Yes, $3,135 per month, to live in a studio. On Oak Street.

1-bedrooms will set you back a minimum of $3,545 a month, while 2-bedrooms will start at $4,270. The 2-bedroom units apparently max out at a top price of $5,900.

The development is going up on the site of the former Central Freeway on-ramp, and more recently the Hayes Valley Farm, which vacated the location last May. In its place, Avalon has constructed a 182-unit, 5-story building, replete with parking and retail. When it's all finished, it'll look something like this:

The apartments boast features including "gourmet kitchens with quartz stone countertops, ENERGY STARĀ® stainless steel appliances, tile backsplashes and thermofoil white cabinets," according to Avalon's website. A kitchen will look something like this:

And a living room will resemble this:

There will also be a 24-hour fitness center, a fireplace lounge, rooftop terraces, and other luxurious-sounding amenities.

Leasing of the units is scheduled to start later this year. If you're interested, you can get on the mailing "VIP" list here.
