Repose Coffee Coming Soon To 262 DivisaderoPhotos: James Grogan Campion
After Magpie & Rye closed its doors in March, the little storefront at 262 Divisadero Street only stood empty for a couple months before being taken over by a new business. As we reported in May, that business is Repose Coffee, a new spot that was scheduled to hit Divis this fall.
We caught up with owner James Grogan, who opened up a Repose Coffee location in Sebastopol in September, to get an update on the San Francisco spot.

First off, the coffee shop and gallery space will be pursuing a modern aesthetic and is being designed by Sagan Piechota Architecture. As you can see in the renderings, the space is aiming for an airy, modern look, with plenty of room for art on the walls.

In typical San Francisco form, the permitting and change of use process took longer than expected, so the opening date has been delayed slightly as the plumbing is being re-done. Grogan tells us that the actual buildout of the interior space should begin in early November.

In our previous interview with Grogan, we learned that Repose will be pouring Ritual Coffee and potentially serving Asian-inspired French pastries by Sweetmue, filling a coffee and snacks niche and potentially adding foot traffic to other local businesses on this quiet southern block of Divisadero.

Stay tuned for more details and updates as the project gets going.
