Wing Wings Seeks Eaters, Prizes For Annual Wing Eating ContestPhoto: Facebook / Wing Wings
It's that time of year again—time to stuff your stomach and turn your face orange for a good cause.

Wing Wings will soon be hosting its third annual Chicken Wing Eating Contest, this time at the SoMa Streat Food Park, and the Lower Haight wing shop is looking for a few good participants, sponsors, and fans for the event.

Contestants

As with previous editions, this year's event will feature two competitions. There's the timed event, in which eaters compete to see who can consume the most Angry Korean wings in 10 minutes. Then there's the Hella Hella Hot competition, to see who can eat 10 Hella Hella Hot wings the fastest.

Contestants are asked to raise $150 in donations in order to participate. If you think you've got what it takes, you can sign up here.

Sponsors

This year's event doubles as a fundraiser for Curry Without Worry, a non-profit that provides meals to the homeless, setting up every Tuesday night at Civic Center for the past 17 years. The bulk of the money raised at the wing contest will come from a raffle of donated prizes. Organizers are looking for donations of any kind—items, gift bags, services, gift certificates, etc. To donate a raffle prize, email Lisa  or Christian.

Fans

Finally, a spectacle is no good without spectators. There will be specials from PBR, food vendors aplenty (it's a food truck park, after all), and lots of heckling to be heckled, all for just a $5 donation at the door.

The event is slated for November 8th from noon to 4pm at the SoMa Streat Food Park, so spread the word and start working up an appetite.
