According to SFPD's Gordon Shyy, officers responded to the area shortly before 9am and located a victim suffering a gunshot wound to the torso area. He died of his injuries, and, says Shyy, "this is now a homicide investigation." The identity of the victim has yet to be released, and the suspect or suspects are at large.

Further information is scarce, but a possible witness tweeted that "they pulled a guy out of Pearl Market on a stretcher."

SFPD asks that anyone with further information call police at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 or 847411 and start the message with “SFPD”.
