Today's strong winds have claimed at least one arboreal victim, as a large tree has fallen across Divisadero, blocking traffic in both directions.

At about 1:30pm today, the SFMTA reported the downed tree, noting that the 24-Divisadero and 5-Fulton bus lines were affected and possibly being routed around the area.

Tipster Cara K. sent along the above photo at around 2pm, which shows that the entire block of Divisadero has been cordoned off as tree removal crews work to clear the street.

Tipster Alexander K. has another look at the situation from a different angle:

No word yet on whether there were any injuries sustained when the tree fell.

Heavy rains earlier in the month have contributed to a rash of fallen trees in recent weeks, and with wind continuing, it may be a good idea to be extra careful around your local urban forest in the days to come.
