P-KOK Eden To Close In JanuaryPhoto: Andrew Dudley / Hoodline
One of two remaining locations of local boutique P-KOK will close in January.

The announcement, which was made recently on the store's Facebook page, blamed the closure of the shop at 776 Haight Street on rising rent. "After 8 years in the Lower Haight, Due to rent increase, we must close down P-KOK eden," the message states.

Between now and the closure, which is pegged at January 5th, the shop will be having a sale of 20 percent to 50 percent off its inventory.

P-KOK is known for its eclectic and often provocative clothing for both men and women, featuring what it describes as "futuristic, edgy, bohemian, local designers." Unsurprisingly, the stores are especially busy around Burning Man and Halloween.

The original P-KOK was located across the street at 791 Haight, next to the Grind. That shop closed in 2011, and merged with the location at 776 Haight, known as P-KOK Eden. However, there remains one additional store, P-KOK Planet at 1445 Haight, which opened in 2010.

Stay tuned to P-KOK's Facebook page for updates, and be sure to get your shopping in while the shopping's good.
