Still in town, and looking for some seasonal treats to get you in the holiday spirit? We asked around, and here are some delicious wintery offerings from some local joints.

Sparrow Bar & Kitchen (1640 Haight) has some limited edition drinks and desserts for you to try, including:

  • Mulled Wine: warm red wine spiced with pear, lavender, orange, lemon and spices
  • Boozy Salted Caramel Coffee: vodka, soju, salted caramel, burnt cinnamon and mint
  • Cranberry Walnut Tart with Bourbon Egg Nog Ice Cream
  • Hazelnut Pear & Persimmon Cricket Flour Cake with Ginger Snaps Cream Cheese Frosting and Lemon Meringue
You'll notice that last dessert mentions cricket flour. Yes, crickets, like the bug

The Ice Cream Bar (815 Cole) has some delectable-looking ice creams this month, and one egg nog/port confection:

  • Peppermint Bark ice cream:  house-made peppermint bark in peppermint ice cream
  • Holiday Cookie ice cream:  house-made and decorated gingerbread cookies in cream cheese ice cream
  • Port Egg Nog: Graham's 10 year tawny port, eggs, cream, turbinado syrup, and fresh nutmeg

Haight Street Market (1530 Haight) has some amazing holiday chocolates available at the front counter, including candy cane and hot buttered rum flavors (pictured above).

Buyer's Best Friend (1740 Haight) is offering a Holiday Gift Guide and gift set services at their website and in the store. As always, you can try before you buy. Read more about it here.

If seasonal booze is what you seek, be sure to check our roundup of the holiday liquor offerings at Liquid Experience (1589 Haight).

And finally, don't forget the Egg Nog. You can pick it up at Whole Foods (690 Stanyan).

Any other local items we should add to the list? As usual, let us know in the comments.
