The Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association's Upper Haight market may be in line for a remodel.

The market, located in the parking lot on Waller at Stanyan from April to October, hosts between and 15 and 25 vendors depending on the time of year. It's about to enter its fifth season.

Amid some discussion that the market might be looking into year-round availability, there's also a new survey available online through February 16th, which allows residents and neighbors to provide feedback about what kind of market they want.

The survey is a collaboration with PCFMA's Upper Haight market manager, Ashley Weidman, and Haight Ashbury Improvement Association president Ted Loewenberg. HAIA was one of the original catalysts in bringing the market to the neighborhood.

Loewenberg has been circulating the survey to neighborhood residents in the hopes of providing a more well-attended, comprehensive and suitable market for the neighborhood, citing a decline in 2014's market attendance after the first three years.

Weidman said that the vision for the Upper Haight market is to include both produce and an event-centric option that makes the market the locus of a fun activity that's differentiated from the grocery element. (In years past there has been a drop-in yoga offering.) PCFMA's mission statement for the Upper Haight market is "to cultivate a communal hub in Golden Gate Park where relationships are formed and enriched."

According to Weidman, the association's plan for the Upper Haight market is to grow the number of vendors to fill the available space and to attract around 1,000 people a week, an increase targeted to occur over the next two years.

Vendors for the 2015 market haven't been scheduled yet, but we'll keep you posted when the lineup is complete. In the meantime, now's your chance to weigh in on how things might shape up.
