The weather is supposed to be in the 70s for the next foreseeable future, but before you hop on your bikes, pack a picnic for the beach or go climb a mountain, read on to stay in the loop with some local news along the Divisadero corridor:

  • It looks like Repose Coffee is getting closer to opening its doors. A photo posted on their Instagram account shows an ornately-decorated interior and Edison-style light bulb, and signage is up on the cafe's exterior. We'll keep you updated on when the new cafe is ready for your business.
  • Speaking of new Divisadero businesses, Heart of Gold is slowly transforming the former 97-cent Plus store into a own vintage-focused community space. Check out their Instagram page for progress pics as they lay hardware floors and truck bricks around.
  • Local mover and shaker Amy Farrah-Weiss, of the Divisadero Community Garden and Neighbors Developing Divisadero, is getting some traction on her campaign for mayor. In a recent article with SFist Amy stated "I have become confident in my ability to win this race with the support of my citywide network and the growing number of neighbors who want to take part in positive and meaningful change." Learn more about her YIMBY-focused campaign in our interview with her last fall.
  • 4505 Meats' Feed The Pig recipient of the month is The Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco, which helps homeless and low-income people secure housing, jobs and support. Stop by on Monday March 31st and load up on barbecue—5 percent of all sales raised by 4505's locations that day will be donated to the charity.
  • Finally, if there's any local businesses that you feel stand out from the rest in our neighborhood, considering showing them some love and filling out SF Weekly's Best of SF 2015 survey
