March is heading like a lamb, and as April approaches, take a moment out of your tax preparations to enjoy a lovely weekend and these leftover Lower Haight updates.

This week, the Chronicle's top food critic, Michael Bauer, heaped a whole lot of love on Maven. In an article about how cocktails are becoming increasingly prevalent on restaurant menus, Bauer declares that "no place combines food and cocktails as precisely as Maven," and that in the cocktail/food pairing game, "Maven is at the forefront."

Tonight, DSF (520 Haight) hosts a launch party for Curly, an apparel brand based out of Japan. "Curly has been producing goods in Japan since 1963," according to DSF. "Meeting with their founders, designers, and manufacturing staff, we were blown away by their sewing techniques, manufacturing original fabrics and pattern making techniques." Tonight's event will celebrate Curly's first U.S. release with drinks and music, and runs from 7pm to 11pm.

In real estate news, at least two of the three units of the formerly-pink, formerly-spooky mansion at Pierce and Waller are on the market. The first-floor, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom flat at 595 Waller is available for $1,195,000, while two flights up, the 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom unit is asking $2,495,000. The latter will have an open house today from 2:30pm - 4:30pm. "Pride of ownership awaits," quoth the ad.

Last Friday, reader Paul S. captured some time-lapse footage of the Muni stop at the corner of Hayes and Steiner. Over a period from 6:20am to about 8:40am, Paul counts roughly an even split between Muni buses and corporate shuttles using the stop (19 of the former, 22 of the latter):

If you're looking to watch any of this weekend's NCAA basketball tournament, both Nickies and Danny Coyle's are reportedly showing every game of March Madness. (You can likely catch the games at Mad Dog in the Fog, too).

Finally, just a reminder that the Sunset Tunnel Trackway Improvement Project returns this weekend, meaning N-Judah trains will be replaced with a shuttle bus from Church and Duboce to Ocean Beach through Monday morning. This will be the sixth of 15 projected weekends for the project.
