If you're staying in town this Easter weekend and looking for what to do, here's our roundup of events going on in and around the Castro (crown of thorns optional).

Friday, April 3rd:

Castro Theatre
If you didn't get enough of the Disney musical or in you missed it last weekend, the Sing-Along Beauty and the Beast is back again. The event is hosted by Sara Moore and friends and screens Friday at 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 2:30pm and 7pm.

Good Friday
Kick off the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Easter Weekend at their 4th Annual Sing-Along Jesus Christ Superstar event, benefiting the San Francisco Trans March. There will be costume contest and door prizes along with a special prize for the best "Chunky Jesus". So "all you hot and chubby Jesus wannabes, dust off your crown of thorns and loincloth, and show off your stuff as the best Son of God you can be!"

Saturday, April 4th:

Tame Iti
Stop by New Zealand based photographer Birgit Kirppner's exhibit, which debuted on Thursday at the Harvey Milk Photo Center. "Tame Iti" features photographs from her regular visits with the Ngāi Tūhoe a Māori iwi (“tribe”) of New Zealand, also known as “the children of the mist”.

Sunday, April 5th:

Brunch
If you're looking for a place to have Easter Brunch, consider stopping by Easter Brunch at Lookout, brought to you by Terrill's House Catering. They'll be serving up a bourbon-apricot glazed ham sandwich, shrimp & grits and frittata, and sides include deviled eggs, scalloped potatoes and bacon with a fudge brownie for dessert. Stay after brunch for JOCK Sunday hosted by Team Unpopular.

Hunky Jesus
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence's annual Eater Sunday tradition,
#WTF Mary?! Hunky Jesus Take The Wheel, takes place this year at Golden Gate Park's Hellman Hollow (formerly known as Speedway Meadow). The event kickoffs with Children's Easter followed by three part main event: Bonnet Contest, Foxy Mary Contest and everyone's favorite Hunky Jesus Contest. While normally taking place at Dolores Park, the event has been moved this year due to the Dolores Park renovation. God may send down his blessing on the event with a little bit of rain, so be prepared.
