According to reports, a car chase that started in Oakland this morning ended at the intersection of Market, Gough and Haight streets, causing heavy traffic in the Hayes Valley area.

The Contra Costa Times reports that a carjacked Chevrolet Impala with two occupants ended up in San Francisco this morning after being chased by Oakland police from Interstate 580 in East Oakland onto Interstate 80 and through the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza. Once the car got onto the Bay Bridge, CHP officers took chase.

Oakland police first began following the vehicle at about 10:35am, and CHP was in pursuit as it exited Interstate 101 and collided with another car at the intersection of Market, Gough and Haight streets just before 11am.

KTVU's David Stevenson was on the scene, and posted these photos shortly after the collision:

No injuries have been reported, but at least six vehicles were damaged by the fleeing car, according to Stevenson.

After the final collision, both driver and passenger took off running, but were arrested by CHP a block away.
