This weekend, the Inner Sunset offers gardeners and gamers plenty of reasons to go outside, but if you feel like staying indoors, we've got you covered. The N-Judah is running shuttle buses again, but we should have some fine weather for walking around.

Saturday

It's the first Saturday of the month, which means that it's volunteer day at Kezar Circle, that island of green bounded by Kezar Drive, Lincoln Way and Arguello Boulevard just west of the eponymous stadium.

From 9 until noon, there will be plants to plant, weeds to weed and, well, that mulch is not going to mulch itself. After you've made the place look beautiful, stick around and enjoy it during the Spring Celebration from noon until 2pm. Today's festivities mark the first anniversary of the Kezar Circle in its current form, so you have a great reason to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy live music from Cole Valley trio “A Talent for Mischief."

Can't get enough gardening? Drop in on an Urban Composting class at the Garden for the Environment, corner of 7th Ave. and Lawton St. This free event will teach you to use your kitchen scraps in your backyard in order to boost the vitality of your flowers and veggies. This is a hands on activity, and you may want to wear gloves. Worms will be discussed as well. RSVP on Eventbrite.

This year, the San Francisco Botanical Garden celebrates its 75th anniversary, and today the garden is hosting its 48th annual plant sale. This is the Bay Area’s largest plant sale, featuring over 2,500 varieties of plants, many of which are drought-tolerant. Because SFBG is in the Inner Sunset, be confident that these plants will grow in our climate. Many of these specimens aren't available at commercial nurseries, so head to the San Francisco County Fair Building near the 9th Avenue and Lincoln Way entrance to Golden Gate Park to check them out.

Perhaps you have allergies and want to do something indoors away from all of these plants - there are a couple of activities today at the Sunset branch of the San Francisco Public Library (19th & Judah).

From 10:15 am to 12:15 pm, there will be a knitting circle in the children’s section of the library, which you can access via the ramp to the right of the main entrance. This group meets on the first and third Saturday of each month. No previous knitting experience is required, but you are asked to bring your own supplies.

Later today from 2 to 4,  there'll be one or more representatives from the Teen Computer Corps on hand in the teen area of the library to help you with your technical issues. Bring your smartphone, laptop, tablet, digital camera, or other gadget that you’ve been having trouble with to see if somebody who grew up with a mouse in their hand can figure it out for you.

If you really want to stump them, ask one of them if they can unjam a cassette from your Walkman.

Sunday

11 am - 5 pm Inner Sunset Sunday: Let's Play

Inner Sunset Sundays kicks off its sixth year tomorrow from 11 am to 5 pm on Irving St. between 9th and 10th Avenues. This event is titled "Let's Play," so there's "playing in the streets - not just for kids.” The block will be closed to auto traffic, with games and other activities set up in the street instead.

You're encouraged to bring your own fun thing to do with other people. Even if you don’t play well with others, this is an opportunity to experience Irving St. as a public space for people, not cars. Meet your neighbors, buy lunch from a food vendor and have a good time at this neighborhood block party. Inner Sunset Sundays has additional events planned for 2015, including “The Big Lunch” in September, a community flea market in October, and the Santa Claus-themed “Santastic” in December.

If you get tired of playing games on Irving St. and would prefer to watch somebody else play, stroll over to Big Rec Park in Golden Gate Park at 6th Ave. and Lincoln Way to watch the Bay Area Vintage Base Ball League game between the S.F. Barbary Coast (2-3) and the San Francisco Pelicans (0-5). The BAVBB is described as a "gentlemanly league dedicated to 1886 rules, equipment and etiquette."
