Divisadero Leftovers: Traffic Cops, Park Cleanup, And A Failed Health InspectionPhoto: Bar 821

Wondering what you've missed this week? Here's a roundup of Divisadero bits and pieces, random leftovers and news bites to tide you over until Monday.

  • Have you noticed an uptick in traffic cops on Divisadero, Oak and Fell streets during rush hour? Earlier this month Mayor Lee announced a new rush hour congestion strategy, specifically targeting double parking, blocking the box, and and construction projects. The congestion measures will be in action on Monday to Friday from 7-9am, and 4:30-6:30pm. More info about the measure can be found here.
  • Herbivore on Divisadero closed unexpectedly this week, with a "Closed for Maintenance" sign posted in the window. According to research undertaken by SFist, the vegetarian restaurant has shuttered temporarily due to a failed health inspection, specifically related to a vermin infestation. Good news is the problem should be resolved and doors reopened by the weekend.
  • Bar 821 released a brand new cocktail menu this week, with such concoctions as a Pina Verde (mezcal, chile liqueur, lime, pineapple gum, and egg white) and a Diabla (fernet, creme de cassis, ginger liqueur, lime, ginger beer). Swing by 821 Divisadero St. to try them out.
  • Mark your calendars: the next Alamo Square cleanup day will be in a week, on Saturday, June 6th from 9am to noon. Volunteers will meet at the green picnic table near the tennis courts. Tasks that need taking care of are weeding, mulching, and other gardening tasks—no experience necessary! Tools will be provided, as will coffee and cookies.
  • Is Kava Lounge finally opening this summer? According to a recent Facebook post it might actually be happening. We'll keep you updated on a potential opening date for the spot, which serves a drink that it claims is "nature's anti-anxiety healing remedy that is also an aphrodisiac and social stimulant."

Have a great weekend, Hoodline readers!
