SFPD Seeks Help Finding Suspect After Attack Near Grant & Gearyflickr/sillygwailo

San Francisco Police investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a violent aggravated assault suspect following an incident at Grant and Geary streets at about 11:05am on May 9th.

According to police, the victim, a 38-year-old female, was walking near the intersection when the suspect, for no reason, called the victim a derogatory name and attacked her by punching her in the face and knocking her to the ground. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The victim received a serious injury to her face. She received medical treatment at the emergency room that day and is continuing to receive treatment for the injury.

The SFPD says video evidence in the case has not panned out, and they're asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. He is described as a white male, about five feet, six inches tall, with brown hair, and was wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and dirty shoes at the time of the attack.

The intersection of Grant and Geary streets is a well-trafficked area of Union Square with upscale shopping, including a Nespresso Boutique cafe and showroom and a Fresh beauty supply, nearby.
