A 77-year-old woman was struck and killed by a man driving a silver truck at Clay and Kearny streets, next to Chinatown's Portsmouth Square. The fatal collision occurred at 6pm Wednesday, according to the SFPD.

Tim Pak Wong, 59, was cited and released for failing to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk, and charged with misdemeanor manslaughter, according to SFPD spokesperson Albie Esparza. He added that the woman appears to have been in the crosswalk when she was hit.

No further information is available yet about the incident, but District Supervisor Julie Christensen will make a statement on recent pedestrian collisions in her district at noon today at the corner of Clay and Kearny. Representatives for the SFPD and SFMTA, as well as pedestrian safety advocates, will attend.
