Next Sunday, June 14th marks the 38th annual Haight Ashbury Street Fair, in which the Upper Haight shuts down to turn the street over to scores of merchants, visitors, shoppers and revelers. Here's a crash course on what to expect.

First, Haight Street will be closed to traffic starting early Sunday morning for vendor setup, which commences at 8:30am. This means you should park early and park well, ideally for the whole weekend.

The festival, which is scheduled from 11am to 5:30pm, will entail day-long street closures in the neighborhood, and not just on Haight Street itself.

While the San Francisco MTA has yet to detail the specific closures we can expect, in previous years the city has typically closed Haight from Masonic or Ashbury to Stanyan, and cross streets from Page to Waller.

Vendors at the fair this year are expected to be much the same as usual: a smattering of food carts, t-shirts, candles, arts and crafts, local merchants offering their wares, and the like. A full line-up of vendors schedule to date is available here, although booth space is still available for new vendors to rent, so the exact lineup may still change.

There's also a plethora of music scheduled: the Jeremy Jones Band, Waves of Silver, Spiral Electric, MCM & The Monster, Barry "The Fish" Melton & Nick Gravenites, the Haight Street All-Stars, Filthy Victorian, Dunkelplek, Commoner, Mister Midnight, and Down Dirty Shake, as well as the winners and runners-up from the 2015 Battle Of The Bands fundraiser that wrapped up last month.
