After much experimentation and positive reviews of their meaty concoctions at Causwells in the Marina and Burger pop-up at Cease & Desist in the Mission, Tablehopper reports that Causwells partner Alvin Garcia and chef Adam Rosenblum are on the hunt for a location to house a new burger joint.
While the duo haven't signed a lease yet, Garcia said they would love to be in the Tenderloin, Mid-Market area. Why are they so determined to bring their burgers to the neighborhood?
"You know, I don't know," Garcia answered. After a bit more thought, he added that he's spent much more time in the neighborhood than others and when it comes to choosing a location, you look at the map and just "go where you feel most comfortable."
The restaurant doesn't have a name yet; it's been a struggle to find one, Garcia said. But, with burgers, fries and milkshakes on the menu, the concept will be similar to the pair's Monday night Burger pop-ups and nothing like Causwells.
Garcia hopes to sign a lease in the next couple of weeks and estimates that the restaurant will open in early 2016.
Loco'l's PR team has also confirmed with us that its highly-anticipated burger house — featuring high-quality, low-cost fast-food — will open its Tenderloin location during the first quarter of 2016. So, it looks like the neighborhood's carnivores have much to look forward to in the New Year.
