You may have noticed film crews set up near Buena Vista Park yesterday, and filming continues in the neighborhood today with crews set up on the 1500 block of Haight Street.
Tipster Becca K. reports that Italian director Gabriele Muccino is behind the film. Muccino, who also directed SF-based "The Pursuit of Happiness," is in town for a new project entitled "Summertime."
In April, Variety reported that the film will be an ensemble coming-of-age/road movie set in Rome, San Francisco, New Orleans and Cuba. American actors Joseph Haro and Taylor Frey play a young gay couple in San Francisco who meet up with Italians Marco (Brando Pacitto) and Maria (Matilda Lutz).

“It’s about four young people searching for their identities and existences,” Muccino told Variety. “This summer voyage sparks group dynamics that not only define their different cultural explorations, but also prompt unexpected emotional interplay ... There are dynamics of falling in love, of infatuation, of unrequited fascination."
Filming also took place at SoMa club Oasis earlier this week, but it's unclear how much longer the production will be in town, so stroll by the 1500 block of Haight today to catch some of the action.
