Reminder: Duboce Park Movie Night TonightPhoto: Andrew Dudley / Hoodline

If you're looking for something fun, free, and local to do tonight, head on over to Duboce Park for the outdoor screening of the 2008 film "Milk," starring Sean Penn as the former San Francisco Supervisor.

As we mentioned last month, this is the latest edition of what has become an annual tradition, with the Friends of Duboce Park hosting a summertime screening of a locally-set film. Past versions have included such flicks as "Mrs. Doubtfire," "The Incredibles," and "So I Married An Axe Murderer."

Tonight's screening starts at 8:30pm in the westernmost section of the park. There will be popcorn, hot chocolate, and other snacks available, and a bingo game you can play during the film. Bring a blanket and grab your spot early, as these movie nights have become a popular local draw.

And if you arrive really early, pop into the rec center named after the film's protagonist. The Harvey Milk Photo Center in Duboce Park will be hosting the opening reception for its Summer Show, featuring photographs from over 30 of the Center's members, volunteers, and staff. The reception runs today from 4pm to 8pm, and will be up through August 20th.
