The shooting that killed a woman at Pier 14 wasn't the only incident in the area for a busy SFPD last night. Shortly past 9pm, a collision occurred between a motorcyclist and multiple pedestrians at the intersection of Third and Market.

According to Officer Grace Gatpandan of the SFPD, "preliminary information shows the motorcyclist collided with one pedestrian on the sidewalk and another pedestrian who was in the crosswalk area. All three parties were transported to San Francisco General Hospital."

As of shortly after midnight, Gatpandan reported that "one pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was in currently in surgery at the time of this statement's release. The second pedestrian sustained lacerations to the head but is expected to survive. The condition of the motorcyclist is still unknown."

There's no word yet on what might have caused the collision, but the SFPD's Traffic Collision Investigation Unit is weighing "the possibility of speed, roadway, time of day, right of way, and many other factors that could attribute to this incident," as well as witness statements and video surveillance footage.

Update, 7/8: SFist reports that one victim, 39-year-old Gregory Ihm, died last week at San Francisco General Hospital. The motorcyclist, identified as 26-year-old Burlingame resident Sean McGinnis, has been arrested on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs.
