SFPD Central Station Capt. David Lazar will lead a community walk from 10pm-midnight tonight on Russian Hill in response to the rash of sexual batteries in the area.

This is in partnership with Tina Moylan, president of Russian Hill Neighbors (RHN) and board member for SF Safe. Mason Lee from Supervisor Julie Christensen's office will attend as well.

According to Capt. Lazar's newsletter, the goal is to provide public safety information to women who are walking alone in the neighborhood. "Volunteers will be teamed up with an Officer and may volunteer anywhere from half an hour to the full two hours, " he wrote.

If you are interested in participating, please meet Capt. Lazar at the intersection of Hyde and Filbert streets at 10pm today.

RHN, SF SAFE and the SFPD are also partnering to host a women's safety forum in about three weeks. We will keep you posted when the organizers release full details, including the date, time and location.
