Former Cara Glass, Your Scents Trading Locations Remain Up For LeasePhoto: Stephen Jackson/Hoodline

Back in May, we reported on the potential fate of the newly available storefronts at 645 and 651 Divisadero, which were formerly occupied by Cara Glass & Sash and Your Scents Trading. Both businesses moved out that month, and realtors had been seen showing the properties to prospective tenants.

Three months later, the properties still lie fallow, but plywood can be seen outside as they undergo the process of being gutted and improved upon. The "Retail for Lease" sign is still up and, according to rental agent Colliers International, the spaces are still in the process of finding a tenant.

"We have been working through offers and improving the space, but at this time we can't comment on the tenancy ... My colleague down the street still has availability, at the [former Health Haven] grocery store [at 621 Divisadero]. I can say that Divisadero is becoming a desirable place for retailers and restaurants," said Sarah Brett, the Colliers agent representing the building.

When we spoke in January to Cara Glass owner Elizabeth Molony, who has since moved to a new location at 3032 Taraval St., she said she was told there would be a restaurant going into the space. However, Brett says that an eatery will not be entering the space, which is backed up by building permits. She did, however, confirm that the vacant shops will remain two separate retail spaces, and that they would not be combined into one large storefront.

There's no word on the timeline for construction; a source told Hoodline that it could last several months. In the meantime, what do you think the neighborhood could use in the two empty locations? Let us know in the comments, and we'll keep you posted as we learn any new information.
