Canadian retailer Oak + Fort is currently renovating two storefronts on Hayes Street, in anticipation of a fall opening. The clothing retailer currently owns nine stores in Canada and one in New York, which it opened in July of this year. This store will mark Oak + Fort's 11th location, putting it just under the maximum number of locations allowed under the neighborhood's formula retail restrictions.

Oak + Fort was founded in 2010, with the "belief that fashion should be uncomplicated and thoughtfully designed." On its site the retailer states that its collection is "not distracted or fettered by trends, and will continue to provide attainable luxury to like-minded individuals."

The store will be taking over both 573 Hayes and 567 Hayes, and is rumored to be knocking down part of the interior wall between the two. 573 Hayes St. was home to Fiona's Boutique until this July, and currently houses a temporary pop-up from local flannel designer Pladra. 567 Hayes St. used to be home to Zeni, a men's clothing and sunglasses shop.

The storefront is currently covered in scaffolding, as the building is being repainted black. In addition, an application for a banner sign bearing Oak + Fort's name was approved by the Planning Department in July.

Though there's no word yet on a specific opening date, several positions are open for Oak + Fort's San Francisco location; the store is looking for several sales associates, a key holder and an operations associate.
