People's Cafe Reopens With A New, Modern LookPhotos: Amy Stephenson / Hoodline

It's been a rocky few years for People's Cafe. Back in May, the cafe closed down for renovations after a brief stint on the market, and there were some fears that it might pull an All You Knead and secretly close forever. But rest assured, the cafe is now back open, with a new owner, a new look, and a refreshed menu.

People's Cafe's entire interior has been refinished, with more open space, fewer tables, exposed brick walls, and modern furnishings. The streamlined design is also reflected in the menu, which features the same classic breakfast and lunch fare (omelettes, sandwiches, and salads), but with fewer options than before.

We reached out to Kevin Wong, the new owner of People's Cafe, but he declined to comment on the cafe's new direction. That said, there seems to have been a push to rebrand the cafe to become more hip and modern. The cafe sells t-shirts featuring its sleek new logo on them (also worn by the servers), as well as coffee mugs branded with either a P or a C.

The cafe's website is currently down, so it seems like the complete rebrand hasn't quite taken effect. While we wait, you'll have to head over, then tell us what you think in the comments.
