Police Report Sanchez Street Death As 'Suspicious' [Updated]Photo: Sanchez Street/Google Street View

Police have reported a suspicious death inside a Sanchez Street residence near Duboce Park.

On Sept. 23rd at around 2:25pm, a 51-year-old man was found dead in his bed, according to the SFPD report. The deceased was found inside a building on Sanchez Street between Duboce and 14th; the person who found him reported the discovery to police.

Though details are scarce, the SFPD notes that the medical examiner has ruled the death to be suspicious.

We reached out to SFPD Public Information Officer Albie Esparza for more information. "We are waiting for the autopsy report," Esparza told us. "Our homicide investigates suspicious death cases until we get the medical report."

Esparza then directed us to the Office of the Medical Examiner for more information. We've contacted them and will update as we learn more.

Update: The Examiner reports that the deceased has been identified as Peter Huerta. Though nothing was stolen and there were no apparent signs of a struggle, the suspicious death ruling came because Huerta's body was face-down in the bed and his T-shirt was torn.
