SALT Fitness Opens Today On DivisaderoPhotos: Jennie Butler/Hoodline)

SALT Fitness, a multidisciplinary fitness studio offering cardio and strength-training classes, softly opened its doors today at 327 Divisadero St.

As we previously reported, SALT is taking over the 2,085-square-foot space that was once The Other Shop. (An Arthur Murray dance studio is headed to the former Yoga Loft space upstairs.) Expect two light-filled studios, a bathroom and shower and a reception/boutique area.

The studio offers a range of cardio and strength training classes including slower-paced barre classes, high-intensity kickboxing and cardio for mothers-to-be.

As of now, SALT is only offering Barre Fight, a 55-minute kickboxing cardio class. In two weeks the studio will add a sports conditioning class, then two more classes later this fall. There are currently eight Barre Fight classes per weekday, and three on Saturdays and Sundays (check out the full schedule here). Drop-in classes are $20 and unlimited monthly passes run $180 ($150 for the first month).

SALT's smaller studio.

SALT's main studio will feature a new mural from a different local artist every six months. On display now is this geometric, spray-painted piece by artist APEX, whose work was recently featured on a large Hayes Valley mural

It's been almost two years since a fire damaged the building, so stop by the brand-new studio to say hello and to check out the long-vacant space's new look.
