Sunday Streets And Alamo Square Flea Market Join Forces This SundayPhoto: Sunday Streets

For the second year running, the Alamo Square Flea Market will coincide with the Western Addition's annual round of Sunday Streets, bringing vendors, games, and crowds of neighbors to the streets.

The Alamo Square Flea Market is celebrating its 32nd annual event this Sunday. Running from 10am-4pm, vendors will line three edges of Alamo Square—along Fulton, Scott and Hayes streets.

The yearly event is put on by a team of volunteers, in collaboration with the Alamo Square Neighborhood Association (ASNA). A booth for the neighborhood group will be located at the intersection of Fulton and Scott streets, and District 5 Supervisor London Breed will be there for part of the day answering questions and talking to neighbors.

Each year, several vendor spots are donated to non-profits. This year, the Victorian Alliance (which offers tours of local Victorian houses) and the Creative Arts Charter School will be in attendance.

ASNA will also hold a raffle with prizes from local merchants. Prize include nights at Chateau Tivoli or The Grove Inn, as well as gift certificates to Nopa, Nopalito, Bi-Rite, and more. Tickets cost $2.

Sunday Streets Western Addition will kick off an hour after the flea market opens, running from 11am-4pm. Street closures will occupy the following route:

Parking will be illegal on Baker Street between Fell and McAllister, Fulton Street between Baker and Fillmore, and Fillmore Street between Fulton and Geary after 8am on Sunday September 13th. "Even if you’re just stopping for a quick cup of coffee, your car may be towed," the event page states

Vehicles will be able to cross the Sunday Streets route at Divisadero, McAllister and Eddy streets. During the closure, the 22-Fillmore Muni line will be rerouted from Fillmore Street between Fulton and Geary.

Sunday Streets events will include free bike repairs, a bookmobile hosted by the San Francisco Public Library, electric bike demonstrations, and fitness classes.

Live musical performances will also grace the streets, with Indian Punjab music playing at Fillmore and Eddy, samba on Fillmore between Turk and Golden Gate, and bluegrass near Alamo Square.

More information on activities, transportation and community events can be found on the Sunday Streets website.  Enjoy your Sunday in the neighborhood!
