Castro Week: Philz' Big Move, Exploring Gardens, Weekend Events & MoreA Halloween display at Cliff's Variety. (Photo: Steven Bracco/Hoodline)

October is in full swing and Halloween is just around the corner, as the above display from Cliff's Variety shows. If you've had a busy week working on getting your costume together, here's a summary of the stories you might have missed.

The Castro Street Fair lucked out on a beautiful, sunny day this year, and plenty of people were out enjoying the drag shows, vendors, music, and more. Check out our photos from this year's fair.

Have you had a chance to stop by the new, more spacious Philz Coffee that opened up on Castro Street? And did you get to say your goodbyes to the tiny 18th Street location before it closed?

If you're looking for something fun and interesting to do outside while enjoying the beautiful fall weather, check out our interactive map of the Castro's community gardens and hidden green spaces. Visiting them all takes 2-3 hours, and provides a great hike.

report released yesterday rated the Church & Market St station an 'A+,' naming it both the best Muni and best overall station across all systems. But a lot of our commenters are indifferent about the results and their overall meaning when Muni as a whole still needs major upgrades.
