Some locations see restaurants come and go, but few have the turnover that we've seen at 2251 Market St. In case you missed it, Barracuda Sushi closed in January, making way for ManDu in May, which turned into Janchi Korean Gastropub less than a month after opening. Janchi lasted only through early September before closing.

After a little less than a month, it seems that there's a new owner and new business headed to the space: "Finn Town" has applied for an ABC license to serve alcohol in the space. While details are currently slim, the license does list Finn Town as a "general eating place," and lists Richard E. Hamer as being behind the new business.

The name could be a nod to Castro history. In the late 1800s and early 20th century, part of present-day Castro was nicknamed "Finn Town" due to its dense population of Finns. Could we potentially be seeing Finnish cuisine on offer at the future Finn Town? We've reached out to Hamer for comment and will keep you updated when we know more.

In the meantime, dream away as to what sort of new food we may be seeing in the Castro. What are you hoping Finn Town will serve?
