[Update, 2:37pm: According to Officer Grace Gatpandan on Twitter, the man is now in custody and receiving aid from SFPD medics. An officer at the scene also confirmed that all impacted streets will reopen momentarily.]

Taylor Street from Turk to Ellis streets and Eddy Street from Jones to Taylor are closed, due to police activity on the 200 block of Taylor Street.

Officers are escorting individuals who need to access work, homes or vehicles on Eddy Street to their destinations, but no one is allowed in or out of residences or businesses on the 200 block of Taylor, said Tenderloin Captain Teresa Gracie.

The incident started at about 9:30pm Thursday, when a man on a fire escape threatened to jump, she said. Negotiators are on the scene.
