Urban Air Market Returns To Lower Haight This SaturdayPhotos: Courtesy of Urban Air Market

This Saturday, October 10, the Urban Air Market returns for its fourth event on Haight Street.

From 11am-6pm, expect two full blocks of home goods, clothes, accessories, and body products, all made by independent and alternative makers. Haight between Fillmore and Pierce will be closed off to traffic, leaving the street and sidewalk open to vendors, shoppers and casual wanderers. If Etsy set out to "Occupy Lower Haight," it would probably look like this.

You might recognize Urban Air from its slightly larger market in Hayes Valley, which occurs twice a year and attracts thousands of attendees. Urban Air hosted its first event there over ten years ago, and it's since grown to be the largest outdoor design festival in the country. Admission is free.

With more than 100 design brands spread out among 60+ booths, getting to everything can be daunting. Here are a few noteworthy live events at the festival worth checking out:

No Tox Life, a vegan body-product company, will teach attendees how to use botanicals to make their own bath soaks and soap. (Haight & Steiner)

Local artist Daryll Peirce will be painting a live mural. (Haight & Pierce)

WitchFoxx Vintage will provide vintage Halloween costume ideas. (Haight & Fillmore)

Urban Air will also set up a stage at Haight & Fillmore, with a full lineup of local bands. Here's the full schedule:

11am: Diablo Jazz Company
12pm: The View from Bernal Hill
1pm: Sara Judge
2pm: Unlikely Heroes
3pm: Constant Time
4pm: The Willy Roland Band
5pm: Melissa Jones and No Lovely Thing

Also, with Haight Street closed, the 6-Parnassus and 7-Haight/Noriega buses will be affected. Inbound buses will reroute between Pierce and Fillmore, while outbound buses will skip the stops along Haight at Fillmore and Pierce. If you want to board, you'll need to get on at Buchanan or Divisadero.

See you out there!
