Two events this Sunday will close some streets at Fisherman's Wharf, along the Embarcadero and beyond.

The 80th Madonna del Lume, or Blessing of the Fishing Fleet, will include events on Saturday and Sunday, but the closure will be on Sunday only, from 6am–3pm on Filbert Street between Stockton and Powell streets and 12:30–4pm on Jefferson Street between Jones and Taylor streets.

The event stage will be on Jefferson Street between Taylor and Jones streets, and about 100 or more people are expected to attend. For more details on the event, including the memorial mass and parades, visit the Madonna del Lume Society's Facebook page.

Meanwhile, the Glide Floss 39th annual Bridge to Bridge Run, benefiting Special Olympics Northern California, will close streets throughout the city on Sunday. It's expected to host 4,000 people. Here are all the closures:

  • The Embarcadero (northbound only) between Mission and Washington streets, 8:15–9:30am
  • The Embarcadero (northbound only) between Washington and Jefferson streets, 8:30–9:30am
  • Jefferson Street between The Embarcadero and Hyde Street, 9–10am
  • Jefferson Street between The Embarcadero and Westerly Terminus, 9–10am
  • Van Ness Avenue between MUNI turnaround and MUNI pier, 9–10:15am
  • Laguna Street (northbound curb lane) between Bay Street and Marina Boulevard, 9–10:30am
  • Marina Boulevard (westbound curb lane and parking lane only) between Laguna Street and the Marina Gate, 9am–noon
