Man Hospitalized After Sunday Afternoon Stabbing At Laguna & WallerPhoto via tipster James

Yesterday, we received a number of tips about police activity at the intersection of Waller & Laguna.

Tipster Elizabeth C. gave us a heads up that something was going on:

"Something going on at Laguna and Waller. Nine cops, four cop cars, lots of caution tape. I saw it around 4pm today."

Reader James also notified us about the situation:

"Something is happening at 50 Laguna. Multiple police cars, fire department called. I can hear the cops talking about having a CSI group come to look at the scene. Two separate areas are cordoned off. One directly in front of 50 Laguna, another at the intersection of Laguna and Waller.  A car appears to be damaged. Not totally confirmed, but I think I can see a few drops of blood on sidewalk at Laguna and Waller. Not totally sure what happened, but I could hear a cop saying that there was a security camera pointing at the area in question and they are going to just look at that. Multiple witnesses interviewed."

This morning, we received word from SFPD that the police activity that garnered neighborhood attention was in response to a non-fatal stabbing, reported at around 3:10pm yesterday.

The suspect, a 42-year-old man, and victim, a 52-year-old man, were arguing on the street, according to police, when the suspect used a knife to stab the victim in the torso multiple times. The victim was transported to a local hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

The suspect was apprehended and taken into custody.

Signs of the violence were still visible this morning.  "The bloody paramedic gloves and gauze were still on the sidewalk when I left for work this morning," wrote in Elizabeth C. "The cops were there for two hours but no one thought to pick them up."
