Crepe Express Closed—But Not For LongPhoto: Amy Stephenson/Hoodline

You might have noticed that Crepe Express, located next to Ben & Jerry's at Haight and Ashbury, has papered over the windows and closed its doors.

Don't despair! Crepe Express owner Mickael Azoulay assured us that they've just closed for renovations, and they'll be open by "the end of the week."

"After 17 years, Crepe Express needed a good painting job, new tables and chairs, as well as a redone bathroom," Azoulay said via email.

The improvements will be mainly cosmetic, but they'll be adding some new specials to the menu. In the meantime, you'll have to find another Nutella source on the street.

As for the other restaurants in the works on Haight, there's still no news on Veganburg's impending opening after delays with their contractor, or El Rancho Grande's renovation of the old El Faro space. We'll keep you posted.
