
To close out the year, we've asked our local neighborhood writers to choose their favorite stories from the past year, and to explain why they loved writing them.
Today, we hear from Castro editor Brian Ray.
I feel that one of the most invaluable things when living in a neighborhood is getting to know businesses better. To me, it helps me connect with the community where I live, and also just feel more in-the-know about things. While I saw a variety of businesses and profiles, I really enjoyed learning more about Bisou when I chatted with owners Nick and Damien. It was great to see how they had evolved their space, learn about their past, and see where they were headed with future endeavors. It's easy to become excited about a particular news flash or one-time event, but I find the new and existing people and places more endearing and interesting.
