Inside Topo Designs, Now Open On DivisPhotos: Nuala Sawyer/Hoodline

As we previewed last week, a new retail shop opened on the Divisadero corridor over the weekend. Topo Designs, a bag supplier, has taken over the former Your Scents Trading location at 645 Divisadero St., transforming it from a cozy longtime incense shop to a hip supplier of urban and outdoor gear.

The turnaround in the space was speedy: We first caught word that the Colorado-based retailer was opening when Tanner Goods moved in next-door, and less than a month later the store's doors are open.

The interior has a familiar light and streamlined aesthetic, with concrete floors and white walls that highlighting the bright colors of Topo's products.

Aside from bags, the space offers the full line of men's apparel, including puffy vests, pants and flannel shirts. The shop also sells a wide array of hats—from warm-weather baseball caps with mesh sides to plush beanies—and accessories also include wool socks, lamps, multi-purpose bags and camping mugs.

Reader feedback on the two new stores has been mixed, with some commenters kvetching about both Topo and Tanner Goods' price-point, and others pointing out that the pricing is for U.S.-made products, for which you pay a premium over foreign manufacturers.

To check out Topo and form your own opinion, stop by the new shop from 11am-8pm every day except Sunday, when doors close at 6pm.
